WHAT IS SUPER COACH?
SuperCoach is a fantasy football site which allows the competitors to create their own teams, filled with their favourite players and play and compete against other fantasy teams.
How does it work?
Using the SuperCoach website, each competitor is given $10 million to spend (please remember, this is fantasy money, no real money is required). You are required to buy 30 players to fill your team, consisting of 8 defenders (6 on the field and 2 on the bench), 11 midfielders (8 on the field and 3 on the bench), 3 ruckman (2 on the field and 1 on the bench) and 8 forwards (6 on the field and 2 on the bench). Each player varies in price in accordance to their ability and their current form and prices can range from $100,000 to approximately $700,000.
Each player in your team scores points for such things as kicks, handballs, marks, goals, behinds, tackles and any other statistic. All the players scores are tallied up and the coach with the higher score is deemed the winner.
Competitors are able to join a league (for kids aged 7-11, there is more information on leagues and how to join them by clicking here) which allows you to compete against other fantasy coaches each week with the season coming to a conclusion with a finals series for the top 8 teams of each league at the end of the season.

Things to remember and take note of:
- Scores of those players on the bench do not count
- You are allowed four emergencies per week which are selected from your bench players. The scores of these players count if one of the players on the field in that same position does not play (for example if Hodge is in your midfield and does not play and Smith is on your midfield bench as an emergency then Smith's score will count for this week).
- You have a captain and vice captain selection each week. The player who is nominated captain will have their score doubled for that week. The vice captain selection is similar to the emergency selection in that if the selected captain does not play then the vice captain will have his score doubled for that week.
- You are entitled to 30 trades per season and a maximum of 2 per round which allows you to upgrade players as their prices change depending on how they are playing.

How to select your team?
At the beginning of the season it can be difficult to select your team and stay within budget. The following is a breakdown on the types of players that can be found at each price and the easiest way to set your team for round 1.
There are three types of players, first year players/rookies which can cost between $100,000-$250,000 each, the middle ground players which can cost between $250,000-$450,000 and the premium players which can cost $450,000+.
The easiest way to set your team up is to have one or two premiums in each position and balance the other vacant positions with the middle ground players and rookies. A list of good rookies who will score well and increase in price will be added closer to the commencement of the 2017 AFL season so keep an eye on this space.
A key to a successful SuperCoach team is selecting the right rookies so that they can increase in price the more games they play. This allows you to trade this player in for a cheaper player to allow you to upgrade another player to a more expensive player. There will be more information about this in the breakeven and cash cow section of this page.

Breakevens and Cash Cows
Breakevens and cash cows are the key to maintaining a successful SuperCoach. Each player has a breakeven which outlines what score each player has to get to each round in order to increase in value. If the player fails to reach the score then their price will decrease. The breakeven score they need to reach each week varies on each players previous SuperCoach scores. Cash Cows are players who have low breakevens and are predicted to increase in value by a lot but won't maintain their high scores week in and week out so therefore should be traded out to make money. Once a player looks like they have reached their maximum price which we will inform you of, then trade them out for a new cash cow and use the money you have made to upgrade other players to premiums in order to create the best SuperCoach team you can. Information on players breakevens and cash cows can be found in this space once the season starts.
